How to gain VIP status, where is the application, and what else do I need to know to officially join?
- No Application, But Why?
In general, servers either have applications or they do not. Again, generally, this means either that the server is very strict to the lore and white listed or open to anyone and casual about the fiction. However, the tradition in Gorean role-play communities is to not to have applications but to be equally strict on the fiction. We are no exception. Let's talk about what that means to those who are new to Gor.
It means that we do not expect you to digest the lore of 30+ books in an afternoon or even in a month so that you can write a lore accurate backstory that will pass approval. However, it does mean that we do expect you to learn as you go and ADAPT as you go.
If you have played on a BtB Gorean Server for more then a year you already understand that this is an unforgiving fiction and have taken your lumps and learned from them - or quit, swearing never to return. If you have never played on a BtB Gorean Server there are some points that you may not be prepared for.
- If you have a detailed character backstory, developed persona, and expectations for your role-play, you are probably going to be both off page and disappointed.
- If you think this is like other "application free servers" and you can just wing it and no one will mind, you are going to be frustrated.
- If you think you have the right to tell your story and the right to approve what does and doesn't happen to your character, you are going to be in for a shock.
- This is your warning
Gorean role-players, both in character and out of character, have no patience with other players who are dismissive or derisive of the fiction. And when I mean no patience, I mean that they will kill your avatar just to get rid of you in the role-play or block/mute/ban you OOC to shut you up.
The only VIABLE option is to enter this community with the desire to learn about Gor - nothing else will work.
