We have a variety of quests on this server, this page will function to provide helpful clues and directions for successfully completing them.
Role
While not actually a quest the Role NPC available in both the Starter Area as well as the OOC Area will allow you to choose the role of slave, panther, or free person. Many of the quests on this server are role specific. If your role changes, you will wish to return here and choose the correct role. There is no limit on how often you can change your role.
Slave Registar
- Important Note
- This quest functions based on the role you selected at character creation. If your role has changed and you have not gone back to the OOC area to change your role, this quest will be confusing.
If you wish to register a slave with the city of Vargor you will want to begin at the Slave Register NPC (Brontus) in the town hall. This registration process is for privately owned slaves and slaves owned by the city of Vargor. The process is as follows:
- Privately Owned Slaves
- Slave owner starts the process with the NPC by selecting the "I need to register a slave". All privately owned slaves must have the process started this way. The NPC will give the owner an object called an "Owner's Token". GIVE THIS to your slave.
- City Owned Slaves
- If you are choosing to be owned by the city, you need to start the process yourself by speaking to Hagor the Asst Slaver in the Vargor Kennels. The NPC will give you an object called an "Owner's Token".
- Slave Starts
- The quest itself is for the slave to complete, and the owner's role is purely role-play at this point. To begin, the slave now speaks to Brontus, the Slave Registar. Brontus will ask if you have already been branded and/or had a medical exam. If you say yes to both/either of these, that step in the quest will be skipped. The NPC also puts a record of the quest in the discord server channel #filing-cabinet and alerts the scribes that a new slave registration has started.
- Branding
- To complete this step, go to Sven Asst Blacksmith behind the Vargor Kennels. He can do the following things:
- Looking for RP: Announce in Game Global and Discord #looking-for-rp requesting someone who knows how to do brands to come to the kennels and do the branding RP with you. (The quest systems only allow a person to do an announcement once every two hours. If you are still within that time period the NPC will not repeat ANY announcement.)
- Brand Receipt: Sell the free person who completed your brand RP a "Brand Receipt" which should be given to you to complete this step. Make sure this item is given to the slave! The person who completed the brand is welcome to go to the discord #filing-cabinet and record the RP of the brand, or any other appropriate logs.
- Complete Step: Take the "Brand Receipt" from the slave and complete this step of the quest.
- After 7 Days: Automatically complete this step for you if 7 days has passed since the start of the quest and you have not been able to find a player to do the RP with you.
- Slave Exam
- To complete this step, go to Aurelia, the Asst Physician at the Vargor Hospital. She can do the following things:
- Looking for RP: Announce in Game Global and Discord #looking-for-rp requesting a physician to come to the hospital/infirmary and do the slave exam with you. (The quest systems only allow a person to do an announcement once every two hours. If you are still within that time period the NPC will not repeat ANY announcement.)
- Exam form: Sell the physician who completed your exam RP a "Exam form" which should be given to you to complete this step. Make sure this item is given to the slave! The person who completed the exam is welcome to go to the discord #filing-cabinet and record an expanded exam form, or any other appropriate logs.
- Complete Step: Take the "Exam form" from the slave and complete this step of the quest.
- After 7 Days: Automatically complete this step for you if 7 days has passed since the start of the quest and you have not been able to find a player to do the RP with you.
- Scribe Registration
- To complete this step, go to Eli, the Town Official at the Vargor Town Hall. He can do the following things:
- Looking for RP: Announce in Game Global and Discord #looking-for-rp requesting a scribe to come to the town hall and do the registration with you. Scribe Players will generally require your owner to be present for this last step, and the NPC will ask you if they are present. (The quest systems only allow a person to do an announcement once every two hours. If you are still within that time period the NPC will not repeat ANY announcement.)
- Registration Papers: Sell the scribe who completed your registration RP a "Registration Papers" which should be given to you to complete this step. Make sure this item is given to the slave! The person who completed the registration is welcome to go to the discord #filing-cabinet and record an expanded registration form, or any other appropriate logs.
- Complete Step: Take the "Registration Papers" from the slave and complete this step of the quest.
- After 7 Days: Automatically complete this step for you if 7 days has passed since the start of the quest and you have not been able to find a player to do the RP with you.
- Finished
- This quest finishes when the last step of the Scribe step is done. If you are sold or need to re-register for any reason, simple speak with Brontus in the Town Hall again and he'll reset the quest.
Region Trade and Daily Silver
Each region will have a new NPC titled Overseer. The purpose of the NPC is to provide daily sliver to the players for the regional effort of trading goods.
- NPC will tell the player to join the region with Eli, the Town Official.
- The NPC accepts up to three different types of local goods.
- Each delivery of local goods results in a new package of goods for export to be prepared. (This is currently 1 for 1, but will eventually go up.)
- Any member of the region can request a package of trade goods (if available) and will receive a region coin. This coin is a "generic representation of the regions exports". Players are encouraged to role-play these exports above and beyond just the selection of "local goods" accepted by the NPC. (See below)
- Only three trade packages can be produced per week per region. (not per person)
- This coin can be traded to someone else from a different region for their coin.
- The coin of the other region can be turned back into the region NPC Overseer.
- Once 2 coins have been turned in for the region the NPC will be able to pay all players the following week.
- How to RP the Coin
- We have left this open for the player base to utilize in a way that suits their rp. The coin could be a contract for the exchange of goods handled off screen by slaves. The coin could simply represent a caravan of actual goods being delivered. The coin could be payment for goods already exchanged.
- While we have selected 3 actual game items to be turned into the NPC, we really don't care what you claim to be exporting. Again, that is all of your role-play.
Player Trade and Weekly Silver
The NPC called Gambit is available at the OOC Craft and OOC Shop area via warp. Gambit allows you to acquire a generic role-play widget of one type and trade it with another play for a different type. When you turn in the newly acquired item to Gambit she will give you 2s.
Contracts and Hero Points
Our server is beta testing a hero point system for region to region conflict. The basic premise of the system goes like this:
- Players compete for signed contract once or twice a week. The competition is a combination of PvP, PvE, RP plotting.
- Defeat waves of mobs at the contract depot
- Defend your contract from capture by opposing players
- Spy, trade, negotiate or ally with other regions to plan your offensive
- There are 12 contracts available each week, and a region can turn in a maximum of 2. Regions can turn in signed contracts stolen from someone else. The week will "restart" just before each event so as to make sure the contracts can be acquired by someone planning an offensive.
- Each depot will only fulfill 3 contracts each, so planning what you choose is part of the game.
- The event period will be on Saturday in the American day afternoon to accommodate both US and European players. A second event for our Aussie players may also be added.
- When you turn in a signed contract, you get a "hero point" for use by your region leader (or designated back up) to spend with the Dungeon Master/Seer team for actions against another region.
- Purchase mercenaries
- Engage in espionage
- Disable a key leader
- Bribe an official
- Regions will be able to defend against and counter attack based on initiative and saving throws earned by role-play events, RP stories and IC rumors.
For those familiar with our RPCSS system, this new design is a great deal more flexible because the actions are implemented by the DM/Seer team in accordance with your creativity. Thus you are not limited to the few dozen actions that was available in the mechanized system.
