Our original set up required players to put vendors on their homes. Some people ignored that, so we reviewed the decision and are making the following changes. If you are not in compliance we will remove your vendor.
;How many traders can I have
# Vendors MUST be on YOUR clan land OR your hub land. They can not be set randomly in the world.
* Each clan can have 1 trader. (Clans are limited to six people)
# Vendors MUST be set near a merchant stall (small or large) and on the HUB DOCK (area) only! We will grow the docks as needed, but only 1 vendor near the small stalls, or 2 near a large stall. If there is already an admin vendor or NPC there they COUNT! Don't crowd the docks and turn it into a mall.
* Settlements can have 2 traders. (If there is a need for more then two, players should place their traders under their private clan name.)
# Each clan may have only ONE player vendor in the hub. Large clans have enough draw to bring players to them.
; Where can we place our traders?
# The vendor MUST have its clan name in it's name so staff can easily identify it.
* Vendors can only be placed at the Fair Grounds.
* Empty traders. Misplaced traders. Or any other trader that would make any reasonable role-player wince and roll their eyes. Will be moved or deleted.

=Fair Grounds Clan=

;Building Rules for Traders are as follows:
* Vendors can be purchased from one of the NPCs in the OOC Area.
* You may place and deco a tent, should be less then 30 items. With the tents and the Highmane's decorative crafting benches, 30 is a lot. Please respect lag and use as little deco as possible.
* Only '''staff-approved''' players may place a vendor in a public building. (A building without a vendor ''may be'' available for "ownership".
* Your trader can not be in the Fair Grounds Clan - if you do this, anyone who joins the Fair Ground clan like you just did will be able to edit your trader and just take your things.
* All other vendors must go down at the docks in aesthetically pleasing spots near merchandise decor.
* Stay within the white area highlighted on the map.
* OR in your own home. (Vendors placed in private homes should be indoors or set up near an appropriately decorated merchant "spot". This means don't just plunk him down by himself along the side of the road - he will "quit" your service.)

;Events
* It is acceptable to build event spaces at the fair grounds that exceed tent/shop limits. We would appreciate it if you'd open a ticket with the admins and let us know what you are doing and why, but we are happy to see your creativity for events.
* You can also cross the building territory area if you need a particular spot for things like an arena.
* Event structures should be temporary.
* Don't delete things you didn't build.

:* The name and profession are up to you.
:* Thespian Type: Change this drop down box to be "Social Merchant". The "regular" setting will not work for you as a player. See banker below.
:* Pre-Set Profession: Disregard. It only works when the Thespian type is set to regular by and admin.
:* Disable Interaction GUI if you are not done setting the vendor up, enable when ready for it to be interacted with.
:* Allow Clan members if you wish your vendor to be accessible by your clan.
:* Emote, Animation Speed and Animation Locked Position are fine to play with if you like. But animations do cause lag, so anything set to stupid will be fixed by the staff. (Stupid: Setting an animation to play very fast very often.)
:* Equipment Kit: We do not have equipment kits set up on this server, you will need to dress your merchant via the Equipment Editor.
:* Equipment Editor allows you dress your merchant from items in your inventory.
:* Character Actor allows you to change some of the appearance settings on the merchant. Since we have IQOL installed you can also edit the merchant from the IQOL radial wheel options when interacting with the merchant.
:* When done click apply and close, this will apply all the changes to the merchant.

==Banker==
You can use the banker feature if you wish, it is essentially a clan bank for the sharing of currency. (Remember, you have to trust your clan members not to abuse.)
=Getting Started=
* You can now interact with your vendor to set up the items for sale. When you (or your clan) interacts with the vendor you will get the buy/sell screen.<br>[[image:socialmerchant2.png|820px]]

New in Season 4: Tot uses a player vendor which is called a Tot Trader NPC. Traders can be purchased on a vendor in the /warp craft area. Traders must be placed at the fair grounds under either your private clan or settlement clan. Please clearly name your Traders with your clan or character name.

About

  • Traders can be purchased from one of the NPCs in the /warp craft area.
  • Traders are not NPCs, they can not be ordered to follow you. So where you place it is where it stays. However, you can return it to inventory but it will put all the items in your inventory as well and you will need to set the merchant back up.
  • Do not use either animations or sounds on the player traders, they add unnecessary lag.
  • Must be placed with the player or clan name in the name of the trader.

Placement

How many traders can I have
  • Each clan can have 1 trader. (Clans are limited to six people)
  • Settlements can have 2 traders. (If there is a need for more then two, players should place their traders under their private clan name.)
Where can we place our traders?
  • Vendors can only be placed at the Fair Grounds.
  • Empty traders. Misplaced traders. Or any other trader that would make any reasonable role-player wince and roll their eyes. Will be moved or deleted.

Fair Grounds Clan

There is a clan for the fair grounds and you can join this clan by speaking with the overseer at the caravan master's tent.

Building Rules for Traders are as follows
  • You may place and deco a tent, should be less then 30 items. With the tents and the Highmane's decorative crafting benches, 30 is a lot. Please respect lag and use as little deco as possible.
  • Your trader can not be in the Fair Grounds Clan - if you do this, anyone who joins the Fair Ground clan like you just did will be able to edit your trader and just take your things.
  • Stay within the white area highlighted on the map.
Events
  • It is acceptable to build event spaces at the fair grounds that exceed tent/shop limits. We would appreciate it if you'd open a ticket with the admins and let us know what you are doing and why, but we are happy to see your creativity for events.
  • You can also cross the building territory area if you need a particular spot for things like an arena.
  • Event structures should be temporary.
  • Don't delete things you didn't build.
