<I>Something has gone horribly wrong. You remember boarding a ship but have no memory of how you have arrived in this barren wild land. Were you captured? Was there a storm? Have the Priest Kings moved you to some new place as rumor suggests they may? It is unlikely that you will ever know, yet you know one thing …

You are still on Gor. For there in the night sky are the three moons. But further you know this to be the planet of your birth for you are of Gor and it is in your blood. Unfortunately, this is about all that you do know.

The people of this land seem more barbaric than even those of Torvaldsland and speak no language you recognize. The flora and fauna are completely unfamiliar to you. The question is how will you survive and more so, how will you thrive.

About Gor
Since most Gorean role-players are coming from Second Life, I feel it would behoove us to explain some of the basic differences.

By the Book
Second Life is a sandbox virtual chat room which means it has a lot of custom items (millions in fact) but very little game play. This means that the options for avatar customization and decoration is extensive and far exceeds almost any other "game". Additionally, as it has a very usable programming (scripting) language it has a lot of items that are interactable and animated, especially ERP items. However, it has almost no functional crafting, game economy, resource gathering or combat systems. If you wish to restrict your time to Gorean sims, there is very little to do other then role-play.
New to Gor
Further, all Second Life sims are small in comparison and have very little area to explore. It is not a vast land peppered by towns, but rather a series of towns with nothing in between. These sims are expensive and thus often difficult to justify their continuation if not successful, often before they even get a chance to build a player base. Players on a sim are allowed to decorate a home but not build one -- building is typically reserved for sim owners. Items in Second Life are purchased for real life money.
About Gorean Slavery
Conversely, Conan Exiles which is also defined as modifiable and a sandbox is far more a game then Second Life is. It has a sophisticated and immersive "survival game" where players must collect resources, craft food, gear and building parts. This allows players many things to do when their is no role-play to be had, as well as things to generate role-play such as having to go collect berries or rare resources. You don't just "keep house" in role-play, there are actual actions needed to grow plants, harvest wood, repair buildings, feed (NPC) thralls, defend your town from (NPC) attackers, as well as a simple but functional combat system for both PvP and PvE.

The game and items are essentially free. The game can be purchased for less then $10 (at this time) and the server owners (that's us) has to pay to host the game - but its a lot less money for much more room and many more people.
About Conan Exiles
However the avatar customization, clothing options, decoration items and so on are far more limited than Second Life. While the options to build your own home, clan base and town are far easier and more sophisticated. There is a functional ERP system that works for almost everyone, as well as items such as collars and cuffs. In addition (NPC) thralls can be captured and put to work crafting or defending your home. The map is large with places to explore, creatures to hunt and special items to discover.
Some things you might not know about Conan Exiles and Private Servers:
* The game can be purchased for under $10 via CD Keys for Steam, come ask us how. You will need the DLC Isle of Siptah.
* Even if you do not own a DLC you can SEE and USE items from those DLCs, you just can not craft them yourself.
* PvP can be restricted based on online clan numbers - it doesn't have to be about getting your base destroyed while you are off line.
* Purge settings can also be set similarly.
* Building damage and decay can be adjusted.
* While you do need to trust those in your clan, we are scripting a "super clan" or RP Town system that will allow small clans to SAFELY ally.

While nothing may compare to an active Gorean sim on second life for role-play and interaction, Conan Exiles offers smaller groups a real opportunity to build their village in an very immersive world, keep players entertained when role-play isn't available, as well as be part of a larger world with other villages and towns.

Further, a private Conan Exile server allows for both PvP and PvE to be implemented at different days and times. Player raids can be restricted to certain days and or days and times, restricted to only when a clan's players are on line. The NPC attacks on a clan only happen when players are online and can also be restricted to particular days and times. The scale of difficulty can be adjusted to keep the game interesting. It is extremely flexible.

In the taverns of Port Kar, the markets of Scagnar, and the wharves of the Twelve Isles, they speak in hushed tones of a place so far east that the very seas seem to swallow ships whole. Sailors seeking fortune and glory regale listeners with tales of narrow escapes from the precipice of the world itself at the fabled World's End. Few have ventured close and returned to tell the tale, and with each passing decade, the legends of lost ships and doomed expeditions grow.

Yet still, adventurous souls from the mainland are drawn to the siren's call of this enigmatic archipelago. They find rocky shores and hidden coves, teeming with danger and ripe with adventure. This is a land as Gorean as any they know, yet filled with echoes of Earth's ancient Hyborian Age. Strange new cultures, born of a time long past, thrive in this forgotten corner of the world.

The flora and fauna are a marvel, both familiar and yet impossibly alien. The very air seems to vibrate with the pulse of a bygone era, waiting to be rediscovered by brave explorers. For those willing to take the risk, the islands promise secrets beyond their wildest dreams. Will you answer the call, or will you succumb to the perils that have claimed so many before?

Welcome to Planet of Gor, a BtB PvP-RP experience set in a land not that dissimilar to Earth’s Hyborian age.

Server Setting

Planet of Gor is a btb book server, looking to provide an accurate Gorean experience. The stories take place on a decent size island thats uncharted beyond the cluster of islands known as the World's end.

    • The Call of the New Land**
    • Rumors and Whispers**
  • In the dim glow of candle-lit taverns and bustling marketplaces, whispers began to circulate about a mysterious new land across the ocean. Tales of this uncharted territory painted vivid pictures in the minds of those who listened. The stories spoke of lush landscapes, unspoiled by human hands, where towering trees reached for the sky and rivers sparkled like liquid diamonds under the sun.*
    • The Promise of Riches**
  • Among the most enticing of these rumors were those of unimaginable riches waiting to be discovered. It was said that the land overflowed with gold and precious stones, treasures that promised wealth beyond the wildest dreams of any who dared to seek them. The prospect of fortune was a siren's call, pulling at the hearts of the brave and the adventurous.*
    • A New Beginning**
  • For many, the tales of the new land were not just about wealth but also about the promise of a fresh start. The land was rumored to be a place where anyone could carve out a new life, free from the constraints of the old world. Families dreamt of fertile soil where crops would flourish, and individuals imagined opportunities that had been elusive in their current lives.*
    • Gathering the Pioneers**
  • As the rumors spread, they ignited a spark within those who had always yearned for adventure. Pioneers began to gather, sharing their plans and pooling resources. They were a diverse group, bound together by a shared dream of discovery and a desire to explore the unknown.*
    • Becoming Part of the Legend**

The pioneers knew that settling in the new land would not be easy. It would require courage, resilience, and a willingness to face the unexpected. Yet, the allure of becoming part of something grand, of writing their own chapter in the history of this mythical place, was irresistible.

    • The Journey Begins**

And so, with hearts full of hope and a spirit of adventure, they set sail. Their ships cut through the waves, leaving behind the familiar and heading toward the promise of the new land. As they ventured forth, they carried with them the hopes and dreams of all who believed in the tales of mystery and wonder. The journey to the new land had begun, and with it, the creation of a new legend!

About Gor

GorAi3.jpg

By the Book

It is our intention to create a game environment that is suitable for By the Book Gorean role-players. We have carefully curated our selection of mods and scripts with this in mind, and intend to continue doing so. However, there are limits on what we are willing to enforce. <Read Me>

New to Gor

The new to Gor section offers links and articles to help new players get up to speed on our fiction. We are attempting to cultivate a like-minded community that is pro-Gor. We take our fiction seriously and expect you to learn. Our application is focused on making sure you are reading about our setting and rules and demonstrating you are willing to learn the fiction.

If you're not yet on page with this goal, you're welcome to join us as long as you're moving toward the goal. If you have no desire to fit in (or worse, you're just here for easy targets), this may not be the server for you. <Read Me>

About Gorean Slavery

"What is most important to note is that Gorean slavery is but a single aspect of a much larger realm. If you feel that Gor is only about slavery, then you are missing out on a vast world of other Gorean ideas and concepts. Gorean philosophy touches on metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, political philosophy and so much more. It draws its inspiration from such sources as Plato’s The Republic, the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius and Nietzsche’s Beyond Good and Evil. It deals with more than just personal relationships, encompassing also how man interacts with government, society and nature. In these respects, it is vastly more encompassing than BDSM or D/S. BDSM and D/S are most often a matter of personal relationships, the interaction of two people.

We are here for more then just private personal relationships, but rather seek to explore the entire scope of the fiction as a living breathing world. <Read More>

About Conan Exiles

Barbarians of Gor is set in the virtual world of Conan Exiles. Conan Exiles is available from Steam. There is a significantly discounted version of the game from CD Keys. If you need help purchasing the game please open a ticket. We highly recommend launching the game through Steam as we use custom mods which are automatically downloaded and installed when the server is launched through Steam.

Our server is set up to promote group play and is not intended to be viable as a solo player. Even small clans will want to work with other clans to meet the needs of large building and thrall projects. Additionally, many of the new features, such as sorcery and golems have been restricted or eliminated to fit the fiction of Gor. Gor is a harsh world, and the game play matches that. <Read More>

Some things you might not know about Conan Exiles and Private Servers:

  • The game can be purchased for under $10 via CD Keys for Steam, come ask us how. You will need the DLC Isle of Siptah.
  • Even if you do not own a DLC you can SEE and USE items from those DLCs, you just can not craft them yourself.
  • PvP can be restricted based on online clan numbers - it doesn't have to be about getting your base destroyed while you are off line.
  • Purge settings can also be set similarly.
  • Building damage and decay can be adjusted.
  • While you do need to trust those in your clan, we are scripting a "super clan" or RP Town system that will allow small clans to SAFELY ally.

About Second Life

GorAi4.jpg

For a long time, we have felt that role-play in second life would be significantly improved by a "game to play". One that brought the world into focus by providing the ability to interact with the world with things such as; game economy, needed resource gathering, crafting, expanded PvP options including the ability to damage buildings and more. Conan Exiles offers a nearly perfect game setting for the world of Gor. <Read More>
