;What do I need to know for RP Stealing
It is generally cultural to steal from those not of your homestone on Gor. Not all of the Gorean cultures agree on this, but generally, might makes right is a Gorean point of view. However, stealing is a broad term and includes at least the following;
* If you wish to role-play steal, please leave a Ravencrest note or Highmane's note AT the location. Consider the surroundings and the number of thralls in play and address them in your role-play note.

;Capture
;Can I RP burn something down or damage it?
:Most cities on Gor acknowledge [https://www.thegoreancave.com/civil/law_gor.php Capture Rights] which is the capturing of free women not of your homestone.
* Yes, same rules as stealing apply - consider the surroundings and the number of thralls in play and address them in your role-play note.
;Robbery/Mugging/Highwayman
:Because the laws of a city "extend only to their walls", robbery is common outside of the cities. However, being caught within a city holding someone up at sword point to rob them is almost always a crime. Punishment varies.
;Thieving/Pilfering
:Like the above this is normal outside of the city walls, and happens relatively often to homes not in a city. Given we have a lot of those in our world, it is bound to happen. Obviously, there are examples of some sneaking into a city, stealing what they can and leaving. Within a city, with laws, this would be a crime.
;Pillaging/Raiding
:Much like a robbery above, the concept of pillaging for supplies is the norm on Gor. Pillaging happens primarily by armed men who attack a settlement to steal the other cities goods. Pillaging is not likely to happen by one to another of their own homestone, for it would be such an outrageous act, the attacker is declaring themselves an outlaw.

;Note
;If you want to acquire actual game items from another clan, please see ransoming in [[Capture (Rules)]]
:"Extend only to their walls" is going to mean something different within our role-play community as our "cities" are actually "towns" and much smaller with homes just outside of the walls, or even no actual walls at all. So for the purposes of this article, consider it to be "within view of their walls".
* By default, when placed, storage containers are "unlocked" and not everyone remembers to "lock" them. The clan event log is turned on, with player names, for everyone to see.
* Open containers are there for clans to make resources available to allies (with the use of Egress Doors). There are open containers out in the open world that have been marked as 'free/available to take" for new players. Unless you KNOW something in an open container is available to be taken, DO NOT take it. Further, do not take more then just what you need. This means a few things with a stack amount under 50.
* If someone has taken items from your offered open chests and you feel it was egregious please open a ticket. However, new players don't read rules, and the damage may already be done. Consider what and where you offer open chests/benches.

=Mechanical=
;Can I take items off a player that is unconscious?
;Base Game
* Yes, as per the [[Capture (Rules)]] you can take items off a players body.
:When a container is unlocked anyone can access it, not just clan members. When a container is locked, only clan members can access it.
* The community, in general, only takes items such as lock picks, keys or other RP relevant items.
;Unlock Plus
* In addition to that, you may only KEEP two items such as a single stack of items, a weapon or an armor piece.
:Unlock plus is set to allow you to damage a container (or door) and at a certain percentage the container will become unlocked and you can access it. Please note, that if a player does damage to a container with a weapon, it will not activate thralls on guard mode.
* More then this can be removed for the purpose of the RP, but we expect you to return it.
;Ravencrest
* This point can be negotiated as part of a siege.
:All of the features of the Ravencrest mod are active, including the ability to craft and place books on another's territory.

# Leave an unlocked chest somewhere with supplies in it to be stolen or for good to be left. A common term for this is drop box and its somewhere near the front of the town or home.
# Do not take more than you can personally carry -- no thralls may be used to carry goods.
# If a thrall is killed in the process, please loot their equipment and either take it, or put it in the drop box.
# Leave a note. You don't have to give yourself away, but at least let the player know they were robbed. If you are in disguise leave a description of the disguise.
# If there are ANY thralls around where the theft occurred, even those visible on craft stations, they WILL get a good look at you. If you do not provide a detailed disguise in the note, the robbed player can make a reasonable guess at your appearance in combination with the clan log.

Season 4: Lockpicking and Breaking down doors now functions as part of the RPR Dice system. While stealing does happen in the fiction of Gor, and while we are interested in game items and materials having value, we are opting not to implement mechanical stealing on this server. This will include taking items out of open containers but NOT from stealing items off players as part of PvP. Role-play (only) stealing is acceptable and we have tools such as Ravencrest mod to support it.

What do I need to know for RP Stealing
  • If you wish to role-play steal, please leave a Ravencrest note or Highmane's note AT the location. Consider the surroundings and the number of thralls in play and address them in your role-play note.
Can I RP burn something down or damage it?
  • Yes, same rules as stealing apply - consider the surroundings and the number of thralls in play and address them in your role-play note.
If you want to acquire actual game items from another clan, please see ransoming in Capture (Rules)
  • By default, when placed, storage containers are "unlocked" and not everyone remembers to "lock" them. The clan event log is turned on, with player names, for everyone to see.
  • Open containers are there for clans to make resources available to allies (with the use of Egress Doors). There are open containers out in the open world that have been marked as 'free/available to take" for new players. Unless you KNOW something in an open container is available to be taken, DO NOT take it. Further, do not take more then just what you need. This means a few things with a stack amount under 50.
  • If someone has taken items from your offered open chests and you feel it was egregious please open a ticket. However, new players don't read rules, and the damage may already be done. Consider what and where you offer open chests/benches.
Can I take items off a player that is unconscious?
  • Yes, as per the Capture (Rules) you can take items off a players body.
  • The community, in general, only takes items such as lock picks, keys or other RP relevant items.
  • In addition to that, you may only KEEP two items such as a single stack of items, a weapon or an armor piece.
  • More then this can be removed for the purpose of the RP, but we expect you to return it.
  • This point can be negotiated as part of a siege.
