Community Meeting Update
Day 1: Those was visiting the volcano report increased activity. Numerous openings vent steam into the air. There is an increase in lava flow and an occasional fall of rocks off the mountain side.

Day 4: Rumors travel from the eastern coast that an actual Gorean built ship has been sighted! No such vessel in sailable condition has been seen in many years in New Sardar. What does this mean, are we to be rescued? Who sails this ship?
Hello again @everyone

Announcement
I wanted to stop in and update you all since we had our community meeting last night. We had a solid turnout, which was encouraging to see and overall I think that things went very well. We were able to discuss some of the goods and bads of the current season and sight set ourselves for the next. Some of the topics discussed and changes that you can expect in the coming season are as follows:
I don't love wipes and we as a team are committed to avoiding them as long as possible. However, we want sailable ships and have maintained the assertion that when they become available we will implement them, and change maps ... so as to have sailable water.

That time has come.
New Season - New (old) map. Everyone agreed that the Siptah map has worn out its welcome and it was time for a change back to the familiar, stable and most reliably well working map in the offering, which is Exiled Lands. This will remove the need for any DLCs to play on the server, as well as bring us back to what the majority of the Conan RPers and players from past seasons here are used to.

The sailable ship mod is available and great fun, we feel it will add to the role-play. Consequently we will be changing to the Siptah Map which is an island with a lot of sailable water. Map changes come with server resets.
While the faction system as a whole was successful for what it was intended to do, the separation of the player base into three separate hubs were detrimental to the overall need to put players "On Screen" together to generate RP. As a means to correct that, we will keep the current three faction (race) set-up, but we will be moving to one centralized hub city. This city will contain all the work benches (workshops) and RP areas (taverns, bathhouse, hospital, etc) as each of the three have now, but this will bring all the roleplayers together into one area, and hopefully alleviate some of the issues with RP pockets that shifted with the populations of these various hubs. The alliance system will be removed, allowing for clan to clan conflict pvp, regardless of faction or race, general sparring, and IC PVP training without all the hassles of leaving clans and rejoining them, etc. We feel this will do a great service to overall immersion of the roleplayers and give the server a more cohesive storyline.

You will need to purchase the Siptah DLC if you do not already have it. It's available on CD Keys for $10. If you are in financial difficulty, the community has offered to help players with the purchase, please open a ticket.
The server as a whole will orient itself toward a Roleplay over Swordplay mentality. Attack on Sight will be removed from the server completely, and all PVP will be required to have RP initiation prior to conflict (PVP) of any kind. In addition, the hub city will be a no PVP zone. All PVP will have to occur outside of the city walls as the "city guards" will not allow it to occur inside.

What does a Server Wipe/Reset Mean
We are also planning to ramp up the server story and provide more involvement from a DM or Seer perspective by having staff dedicated to pushing story and RP for players, clans and the server as a whole. We are preparing to set up some daily and weekly quests for active players to allow them to earn a bit of extra coin in game as a means of repaying them for their time RPing and being active in the server, as well as a basic small stipend for players to collect daily the way they can now when they see Gambit. We will also be removing the Pippi gold exchange programs we had in place in the first two seasons, so that the way players will earn coin outside of the stipend and the static quests will be up to the roleplayers themselves. Trading with each other for goods and services to pad their pockets instead of "mining gold", which does nothing to push RP, and that is what we are here for, right?
It means at all characters must be recreated. However, additional steps can be made to restore some portion of your progress. Details are forth coming, but in summary:

You will be able to recover a selection of the following items: your level to 60, build materials, weapons and armor, t4 thralls, high end pets, gold and so forth. Not everything will be available to everyone, but we do have a thread below where you can request items be made available. We will pick a selection and have it available for purchase on restart.
Over the coming weeks you will likely see some changes to the Discord and Roles and these changes are being made to gear ourselves up for the start of a new season here at Barbarians of Gor. So to that end, this is what I have that I can share with you, and hopefully this information will allow those of you that are still active and pursuing your stories in the server some time to wrap up loose ends and make plans to close out stories or prepare for new chapters with enough forewarning and time to plan and decide what you want to do with your Roleplay going forward, hopefully here with us.

Also, we will be continuing with IQOL so your character appearance can be transferred over as well.
We are planning, projecting to start Season 3 here at Barbarians of Gor on the weekend of December 15-17th, so that gives everyone about 5 weeks to roleplay out the end of their current season. We will be putting out some information and server story to explain the map changes and to allow you all to incorporate some of that into your RP as we close out season 2, but we are still working on all that and will get it to you as soon as possible so you can use it in your own RP and fictions.

Additional Goals for Season Two
I was so happy to have such a positive meeting and a chance to talk to all of you about our plans and hopes for the server and it was amazing to see how many of you had positive ideas and input to add throughout. I know I speak for Branwyn and Baene when I say that we are so happy that you have decided to make this place your RP homes and we will do everything we can to make sure everyone here has a great time and a truly immersive RP experience.

Our biggest challenges right now is getting players on screen as soon as possible and maintaining storylines even when individual clans grow and shrink.

We are working out details, but we will be implementing factions (hubs/Home Stones) for players to join and work together at. These factions will have central crafting areas useable by everyone allied to the hub. This is intended to increase player interaction both immediately and long term.

(While one of the joys of Conan is to go out and build your own base and do your own thing -- it is not driving enough consistent role-play to keep players engaged -- this must be changed. We don't know if our solution will work - cats and players are herding challenges - but we are going to try until we fine the right answer.)

What's Next
Role-play events are being scheduled to introduce the storyline that will take us from New Sardar to the island known as World's End. Everyone is invited to participate. More details of the fiction will be released after each event.

Our time frame is in the next few weeks. We will update with more definite times as we get closer to being ready.

Additionally, we are going to release both the ship mod and the new clothing mod to the current server so that you can all get a preview of the goodies to come.

Other Changes
We made a promise to re-look at the suite of Tot's mods, and we have given it serious consideration. Unfortunately, it does not meet our needs without a lot of time-consuming work arounds. And honestly, we would rather come and play then spend a month or more trying to recreate what we already have. So we will not be changing to Tots.

Wiki Changes Planned
* Sardar Fair The Sardar Fair will be gone, players can place merchants at their homes.
* Building and Bases (Rules) Build limits will be reduced to 200 per person and players will be STRONGLY encouraged to build near the hub. And we mean RIGHT near the hub, as close as land claim radius will allow. Base game lighting is to be disabled, and Shani's lighting to be made freely available. Players will be limited to 2 crafting stations per person - this will apply to beehives, planters, animal farms and fish traps. This will reduce lag and drive interoperation. (Campfire, deconstruction bench and single use wheel of pain do not apply towards the count.)
* Natives Are being renamed to Hyborians.
* Membership (Rules) Registration needs to be updated for races
* New Sardar, About Changing to the island called World's End
