A list of Gorean Terms we would like you to learn for overall immersion. There are obviously may more Gorean words that can be learned, but these are the most common ones to be used in role-play on Barbarians of Gor.
- Tal
- The most common form of hello on Gor. Other examples in use; greetings (common), Hail or Ho! (Torvalsland)
- Paga
- The most common drink on Gor, along with wines, ales and meads.
- Black Wine
- Gorean word for coffee -- is served in the more traditional Turkish style.
- Tarsk
- Both a boar on Gor and a measurement of currency.
- Tarn
- A large rideable bird much like an eagle, also a measurement of currency.
- Pasang
- A Pasang is about seven-tenths of a mile. Most travel distances are expressed in pasangs. Speeds are also expressed in these units.
- Hort
- A Hort equals 1 1/4 inches. Ten horts equal a Gorean foot, which is about 12 1/2 inches long. Height is normally expressed in horts. There are tape measures that are marked in horts.
- Stone
- A Stone equals about four pounds. A weight equals ten stone. Weight is normally expressed in stones.
- Ihn
- the Gorean second (1.35 earth seconds)
- Ehn
- the Gorean minute, it consists of 80 ihn (1.8 earth minutes or 1 minute, 48 seconds)
- Ahh
- the Gorean hour, it consists of 40 ehn (1.2 earth hours or 1 hour, 12 minutes) the Gorean day consists of 20 ahn
