How to gain VIP status, where is the application, and what else do I need to know to officially join?

VIP and White-list Status

Members with experience in Gorean BtB communities will be granted both VIP status as well as automatically white-listed. To receive this status you must register in Discord in the #register-here channel. The information requested is simple and straight forward.

If you are new to Gor, I will not set your status until you contact me and request the change. The status of New will grant you some protection from the harsh reality of Gorean life, which has little patience for the inexperienced.

You can register on Discord in the #register-here channel. You do not need to wait for approval. You can log in immediately and we will set your tags when you do.

What is your Gorean Experience (If you are new to Gorean RP we want to help, and if you are experienced we want to have your help.)

FunCom ID (In Conan, hit esc for the menu. Go to server and then to friend list. At the bottom of the screen is your FunCom ID and you can click the icon to copy it.)

Character Name

About (Just a little information about your character, especially their homestone, so the staff team can help with suggestions, look at the other examples and keep it brief. Remember, these lands ARE on Gor but are NOT the mainland.)

Note

Your funcom ID is necessary for the registration process. The Steam ID that is most people think of as the steam id isn't actually reliable as a way to verify/check/friend a person. To be able to accurately white list you I do need your Funcom ID.

Setting Status

After you have posted your registration I will set your status to VIP or New to Gor in Discord and then once yo log in white list you on the server. If you have no Gorean experience I will be leaving you as "new". This is to your benefit. The standard of knowledge is high on a Gorean Server and if people know you are new, they will be more likely to give you a helping hand. You may request this to be changed at any time by opening a ticket.

No Application, But Why?

In general, servers either have applications or they do not. Again, generally, this means either that the server is very strict to the lore and white listed or open to anyone and casual about the fiction. However, the tradition in Gorean role-play communities is to not to have applications but to be equally strict on the fiction. We are no exception. Let's talk about what that means to those who are new to Gor.

It means that we do not expect you to digest the lore of 30+ books in an afternoon or even in a month so that you can write a lore accurate backstory that will pass approval. However, it does mean that we do expect you to learn as you go and ADAPT as you go.

If you have played on a BtB Gorean Server for more then a year you already understand that this is an unforgiving fiction and have taken your lumps and learned from them - or quit, swearing never to return. If you have never played on a BtB Gorean Server there are some points that you may not be prepared for.

• If you have a detailed character backstory, developed persona, and expectations for your role-play, you are probably going to be both off page and disappointed.
• If you think this is like other "application free servers" and you can just wing it and no one will mind, you are going to be frustrated.
• If you think you have the right to tell your story and the right to approve what does and doesn't happen to your character, you are going to be in for a shock.

This is your warning

Gorean role-players, both in character and out of character, have no patience with other players who are dismissive or derisive of the fiction. And when I mean no patience, I mean that they will kill your avatar just to get rid of you in the role-play or block/mute/ban you OOC to shut you up.

The only VIABLE option is to enter this community with the desire to learn about Gor - nothing else will work.

Hub Application

If you wish to discuss setting up a role play hub with the admins you may open a ticket in discord to discuss. Expect there to be questions about your experience in running similar groups, your available time, and the amount of time you have spent actively playing with us on the server.

1. Needs to be a town.
2. Needs to be a needed fiction for the community, we can’t have 12 people and 5 hubs. We can’t have two Port Kars.
3. Ran by experienced BtB Gorean RPers with leadership experience.

What we will need to know to begin

• Your character name
• The name of the town you wish to create
• Where you wish to create it and what will it look like
• What other Gorean guilds/sims/servers have you ran in the past
• How often will you run events, and what type of events will they be.

Season Four

Season Four has began. We are in the process of upgrading our educational offerings, streamlining the application process, and onboarding new players. As always the wiki is a work in progress. As of Jul 9th, a significant re-organization was made.
