Stealing is an acceptable part of the role-play on this server. With such tools as Unlock Plus and Ravencrest stealing has both role-play and mechanical options. However, we are in the process of re-evaluating our mechanics, until then, only ROLE-PLAY stealing is allowed, no actual mechanical or item theft should be done. <includeonly> <Read More> </includeonly><noinclude>

* Open containers are there for clans to make resources available to allies, as well as offering free things to new players. Unless you know something in an open container is available to be taken, do not take it. Further, do not take more then just what you need. This means a few things with a stack amount under 50.
So far below is the first draft of the rules, this is the second and is more of a thinking out loud.
* If someone has taken items from your offered open chests and you feel it was egregious please open a ticket. However, new players don't read rules, and the damage may already be done. Consider what and where you offer open chests/benches.

* If you wish to role-play steal, please leave a raven crest note AT the location. Consider the surroundings and the number of thralls in play and address them in your role-play note.
On discussion regarding role-play vs mechanical stealing combined with the players goal to be caught or not be caught, we conclude that the bulk of stealing moderation (and ooc hurt feelings) comes in the combination of "mechanical theft + thieves who wish to control the narrative about being caught". Consequently, our first rule is this:

*If you wish to control the narrative about being discovered you may not steal mechanically. Instead, you may only steal with role-play, inviting the player to participate in the storyline without having lost items.

*If you steal mechanically, you must either "plant a raid flag" or leave such a clear description, that finding you is possible. You may not steal mechanically using a disguise. If the victim can not find your clan or person within 3 days of reasonable searching, they may open a ticket to get the thief's name.

*If you wish to war with another clan it will be considered a siege and will be negotiated between both parties.

While stealing does happen in the fiction of Gor, and while we are interested in game items and materials having value, we are opting not to implement mechanical stealing on this server. And this will include taking items out of open containers. The clan event log is turned on, with player names, for everyone. Role-play stealing is acceptable and we have tools such as Ravencrest to support it.

 • Open containers are there for clans to make resources available to allies, as well as offering free things to new players. Unless you know something in an open container is available to be taken, do not take it. Further, do not take more then just what you need. This means a few things with a stack amount under 50.
 • If someone has taken items from your offered open chests and you feel it was egregious please open a ticket. However, new players don't read rules, and the damage may already be done. Consider what and where you offer open chests/benches.
 • If you wish to role-play steal, please leave a raven crest note AT the location. Consider the surroundings and the number of thralls in play and address them in your role-play note.
