A series of links to help new players get up to speed on our fiction quickly. Please note, we take our fiction seriously and expect you to learn. We do not do applications and are willing to let you learn as your role-play, but don't take the lack of applications as indication that we are not as serious about our fiction as others may be.
Further, we are attempting to cultivate a like-minded community that is pro-Gor with these these ideals in mind. If you're not yet on page with these goals, you're welcome to join us as long as you're moving toward the goal. If you have no desire to fit in with this ideal (or worse, you're just here for easy targets), this may not be the server for you and you may be forced to leave by the community or asked to leave by the admins.

- Truth in Advertising
- What is Gor? If you know nothing about Gor, you should read this article first.
- Gor RP Etiquette (Rules)
- There are some significant differences in our role-play etiquette then you may be familiar with if you come from a standard role-play communities. Such differences include the way we communicate with each other out of character, how we handle thought-emotes, meta-gaming, power gaming, and OOC limits. You will be expected to understand these differences. <Read More>
- Gorean Cheat Sheet
- We have created as brief a list of important information about Gorean role-play as is possible to do with a fiction that spans more then 30 books. It is not everything you need to know, and many experienced Goreans will disagree with the priority placed on one thing over another, but it should get you started. <Read More>
- In Character Restrictions
- Updated 6/13/24 Chainmail has been restricted. There are codified rules on how you must dress and act on Gor. Many of these are actual laws in some of the cities and can be enforced in character with a wide variety of punishments. These minimum restrictions apply to all characters regardless of their background. These standards are much more flexible than the books and is intended to be a compromise between the ideal and the reality of role-play. Do not ignore this list, we will enforce it if necessary. <Read Me>
Where to find more information
- Read the Books
- You will hear this over and over and over so you might as well get use to it. Go read the books.
- Gorean Cave
- The Gorean Cave is generally considered a safe website for Gorean knowledge because it offers book quotes without interpretation
- Luther Scrolls
- Since the Books of Gor were started back in 1966 many texts have already been written and many persons have spent countless hours studying and sharing information to help others understand better what is GOR. One of these persons is known as “Ubar Luther” who wrote a series of papers (most seem to be over 15 to 20 years old, but still very up-to-date in many topics) called the “Luther’s Gorean Educational Scrolls” that were available on Gor-Now.net, but that site has been hacked. Interpretation of the books is widely contested, and Luther's articles are no exception. However, they are an invaluable resource for those new to Gor and so to preserve them I have moved a copy over to our wiki. <Read More>
- Gor Culture Comparison
- Many of the cultures from Gor are based on historical Earth cultures. This page is intended to be a way to help new players being their search for the cultures they are most interested in. Further, since we have so many Conan role-players we have included the Conan cultures as comparison as well. <Read More>

Backstory and Race
If you are going to jump into role-play right away you need to know somethings about your character's possible back story. I have outlined the key points. Remember this is set on the planet of Gor.
Our server offers two "races" for players to choose from; Gorean, and Earthling. (These races are less actual races and more references to geographical locations like we might say Asian or European.)
- Goreans are those characters who were born on the mainland of Gor which includes the large continent and surrounding islands represented in the book series by John Norman.
- Earthlings are those characters taken from modern day earth to be brought to Gor primarily to become slaves.
