We have complied a collection of tips and tricks on how to build in Conan Exiles, especially tips on how to reduce lag for yourself and other players.

Building Mods

We have a collection of building mods on this server that offer additional building and decoration items, animal and horse pens, extended snap points and reinforcements, double doors, and more. Please review the list of mods

Reducing Lag

Animation
Anything with an animation can contribute to lag around a build. This includes thralls on crafting benches, and any who linger around builds. Be careful about stacking them all in the same place.
Lighting
Limit lighting with open/flickering flames like torches and braziers. Try to not overlap their light radius. Remember that there are no electric lights! Patches of darkness, or dim light would be very normal. Beyond Decor typically has a good selection of lighting with no flickering and adjustable brightness. This will help reduce the number of lights you need. When able, pick options like lanterns over candles, but candles can be adjusted as well!
Thespians/Merchants
Thespians in a stationary pose would help avoiding contributing to lag. It is a silly thing, but it can make a big difference! The owner will need to make the change.
Inventory
Things with inventories! Anything that has an inventory (crafting benches, storage chests, random deco pieces, thralls, anything) will run a check against the server each time you come into render range of it EVEN IF IT IS EMPTY. It is super important to limit the number of inventories that you have in your base, and in one spot. There are items called “boxes” in the Beyond Decor mod that have large inventories that are best used for crafting rooms. Nearly everything you need can fit between ~4 boxes. Nearly every beyond decor piece that could possibly be a container can either have storage or not. They all have big inventories. Don’t want a bunch of chests or boxes about? Try a wardrobe, or cabinet!
